About Serendipity Travel Experiences

Serendipity Travel Experiences is a private ground transportation and concierge company based in Tulum, Quintana Roo. Founded in 2020, we have moved more than 45,000 passengers across the Riviera Maya and Los Cabos in vehicles we own, with chauffeurs we employ.

How we started

In 2020 most private transfers in the Riviera Maya were sold by intermediaries and delivered by whoever happened to be available that morning. Rafael Linares founded Serendipity on the opposite model: own the vehicles, employ the drivers, and answer for the ride from the moment it is booked to the moment the guest arrives. That is still how the company works today.

Permits and compliance

We hold federal SICT permits, the authorization required to legally pick up passengers at Mexican airports, and we are registered with RETURQ, the tourism services registry of Quintana Roo. This matters more than it sounds. Operators without these permits are sometimes turned away at the terminal, and the person who absorbs that problem is the traveler standing at arrivals, not the company that sold the ride.

What we operate

An owned fleet of Suburbans, VIP vans and Sprinters, insured for tourist transport and maintained in house rather than rented in when demand spikes. We serve three airports: Cancun International (CUN), Tulum International (TQO) and Los Cabos International (SJD).

• Quintana Roo. Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Akumal, Tulum, Bacalar and Mahahual.
• Baja California Sur. Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor.

Same vehicle standard, same chauffeur training and same response times in both regions.

The team

Our operations team is based in Tulum and reachable 24 hours a day. Every reservation is confirmed by a person before the guest travels. Our chauffeurs operate in English, Spanish and French.
