Summer in Tulum: The Season for Cenotes and Lagoons

Everyone talks about the seaweed and the rain. But here’s the thing—summer in Tulum is one of the best times to explore what’s off the beach. It’s quieter, the jungle is lush, and the cenotes and lagoons are at their best.

If you’re visiting between May and November, swap the coast for a fresh water swim in the jungle. Here’s where we’ll take you:

Vesica: A Cenote Sanctuary

Vesica isn’t just a cenote—it’s a whole vibe. Tucked just 5 minutes outside of town, this spot blends crystal-clear water with curated spaces, good food, and soft music. Come for a swim, stay for lunch, maybe even book a massage. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger.

Vesica has a full restaurant and bar with deck space comfortable for groups and more intimate corners for couples.

Open: Daily, 9AM - 6PM
Fee: 500MX day pass + consumption
Open to: Adults, kids, and dogs on leash
How to get there: Scooter or car

Neek Tulum: Private Lagoon Club

Located on Laguna Nopalitos, Neek is off-the-grid and gorgeous. It’s the perfect alternative to a beach day. Kayak, paddleboard, or just hang out on the shaded dock with a drink in-hand. “Disconnect to reconnect” is the vibe out here, about 25 minutes south of Tulum.

Open: Daily, 11AM - 6PM
Fee: 300MX day pass + consumption
Open to: Adults, kids, dogs
How to get there: Car required

We offer a weekly shared shuttle to Neek on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with your day pass included. Click here to book.

Bacalar: Full-Day Escape

Bacalar is a day trip from Tulum, about 3 hours, but trust us—it’s worth every minute. The lagoon has every shade of blue you can imagine, along with some of the deepest cenotes in the Yucatan. It’s a breath of fresh air and fresh water.

Our Bacalar Day Trip is one of our most popular tours. It includes round-trip transportation, a private boat tour, and lunch prepared in a local restaurant, along with snacks, beer, and water for the day.

Available daily, departing Tulum at 6am and returning by 4:30pm.
